1. About MyChessGPT

MyChessGPT is an AI-powered chess tutoring platform that helps players of all levels learn and improve through interactive analysis, move-by-move explanations, and general chess theory Q&A. Responses are generated by large language models (including models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) and are intended for educational and entertainment purposes only.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use MyChessGPT.
• If you are between 13 and 18, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
• By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@mychessgpt.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are found to be fraudulent, or have been inactive for an extended period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MyChessGPT to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or any content designed to disrupt the service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service in an unauthorised way
• Use the service to cheat in rated or competitive chess games on external platforms
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
• Circumvent any rate limits, subscription restrictions, or access controls
• Use the service to generate content that is hateful, illegal, or sexually explicit

5. AI-Generated Content and Disclaimer

Chess analysis and advice on MyChessGPT is generated by AI language models. While we strive to provide high-quality tutoring, AI can make mistakes — including incorrect move suggestions, inaccurate positional assessments, or misidentification of openings.

MyChessGPT responses are for educational purposes only. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any chess analysis and you should not rely solely on AI-generated advice for competitive play.

The service is not a substitute for coaching by a qualified human chess instructor or for studying established chess literature.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

MyChessGPT offers a free tier with a limited number of messages per month, and a paid subscription that provides unlimited messages and additional features.

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis, as selected at checkout.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again but your access continues until the period ends.
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Free-tier message limits reset on the first day of each calendar month.

Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details.

7. Intellectual Property

Our content: The MyChessGPT name, logo, design, codebase, and AI-generated tutoring responses (as presented to you through the service) are owned by or licensed to MyChessGPT. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without our written permission.

Your content: You retain ownership of the chess questions, PGN games, and positions you submit to the service. By submitting them, you grant us a limited licence to process them for the purpose of generating your tutoring responses and storing your chat history.

Shared chats: When you share a chat using the Share feature, that chat becomes accessible to anyone with the link. Only share content you are comfortable making publicly accessible.

8. Privacy

Your use of MyChessGPT is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the service, you agree to our data practices as described there.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MyChessGPT and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service
• Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated chess analysis
• Loss of data due to technical failures
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Unauthorised access to your account resulting from your failure to keep credentials secure

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

MyChessGPT is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will be accurate.

11. Termination

You may stop using MyChessGPT and delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the integrity of the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or via a notice on the site. Your continued use of MyChessGPT after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of MyChessGPT shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable to the operator's place of business.
